Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Gives Its Overview

Nintendo released a new trailer for the upcoming remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The five-minute long trailer provides an overview of the game, which is set to release on May 23, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders currently available.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom, and sees Mario hunting for treasures known as the Crystal Stars. However, Mario isn’t the only one in search of the Crystal Stars, with others looking to use the artifacts for their nefarious purposes. It’s up to Mario to find the treasure, open the Thousand-Year Door, and save the world in the process. Players travel around the world in their hunt for the Crystal Stars, entering towns in a perpetual state of twilight, and performing investigations onboard a moving train along the way. Just like other games in the Paper Mario series, the battles are turn-based and require players to time button presses to increase their attack power and reduce damage taken.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
