Square Enix has announced the release date for the multiplayer expansion for Final Fantasy XV. Known as Final Fantasy XV Comrades, the release date came alongside a spoiler-laden trailer that establishes the reasoning for the multiplayer to exist in the context of the universe. Additionally, another trailer was produced for the extended Final Fantasy XV universe.
In Comrades, players will take on the role of members of the Kingsglaive. After customizing their avatar, players will join up to three other people as they explore the world, embark on quests, and take down monsters. Single player levels will also be made available to let players strengthen their Comrades characters. As members of the Kingsglaive, the avatars will be able to equip royal sigils that grant them the powers of the Lucian bloodline, letting players adapt a style to their preference.
Comrades will be made available on October 31, 2017, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
