In Entombed with the Pharaohs the player characters are given the opportunity to explore (plunder) the ancient and cursed tomb of the Four Pharaohs of Ascension. Set deep in Osirion, the land of scorching sun and shifting sands, this adventure will give players a taste of what archeaology was like in Egypt in the early 20th century. Of course, what the player characters face will be far worse than the curse of King Tut's tomb. This adventure is designed for sixth level characters.

The adventure begins in the city of Sothis, where the Antiquities Auction is being held, featuring a large number of recently unearthed relics. The player characters are expecting to meet up with a contact from the Pathfinder Society who has important information for them regarding the hidden tomb of the Four Pharaohs. Of course, the party and their contact are not alone here, and this provides the first opportunity for the player characters to interact with their chief competitors. From there the party must manage to discover the location of the hidden tomb and then beat their competitors and the tombs guardians to survive.

The back story concerning the four pharaohs is well written; and the numerous non-player characters, including the competitors are well rounded, helping to immerse the players fully in the land of scorching sands. Even without the players' presence to liven up the scenes, the story presented could easily make the basis for a good fantasy novel. Throw in cleverly designed traps and all the ingredients for a good adventure are in place.

Like most adventures in the GameMastery line, the difficulty level in Entombed with the Pharaohs might be a bit much for new players, but experienced players will find the setting, traps, and devious opponents to be the perfect mix for great time acting out their tomb raiding fantasies.
