The big announcement from Evil Hat this week is that they have licensed Eisner-nominated comic book Atomic Robo. The game will be developed by Robo creator Brian Clevinger and Strange Fate author Mike Olson using the latest iteration of the FATE system. The Atomic Robo RPG is set for release in late 2012 or early 2013.
In other Evil Hat news, Dresden Files is getting more support with a set of three adventure arcs slated to release over the next two years as well as a new setting guide called The Paranet Papers which will include six different location profiles in the vein of Baltimore from Your Story and update to the setting material through to Ghost Story. The third edition of FATE is still in the works and should be in the editing phase by February. Also announced was Jess Nevins' Strange Tales of the Century, a Spirit of the Century supplement focused on international pulp content.
They are also branching into developing material for Pelgrane Press' Gumshoe system, bringing more story game elements to the investigative mechanics with a pair of new projects. First project is Bubblegumshoe, a teen detective RPG in the style of Nancy Drew with an emphasis on the relationships between teen sleuths and adult authority figures. The book is being developed by Gumshoe veteran Ken Hite, Breaking the Ice creator Emily Boss and Lisa Steele of Cumberlang games & Diversions. Second is Revengers, where players take on the role of ghosts who investigate murders and haunt the murderers. Revengers is under development by Will Hindmarch, co-founder of Game Playwright and promises to offer players some big story-shaping powers.
