Mankind Divided is set two years after the events of Human Revolution. After the events of the previous game, an incident took place where mechanically augmented people were driven to become violent due to a chip unknowingly inserted into their hardware. This has led to a new regime of fear as those who aren't augmented oppress those who are. Adam Jensen returns, now working as a counter-terrorist for Interpol, and continues his efforts to bring down the Illuminati.
