Aquaplus recently opened the official Japanese website for its dungeon-crawler sequel Dungeon Travelers 2-2. The new website confirms the premise for this sequel to Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal, while also showing off its cast.
Dungeon Travelers 2-2 takes place shortly after the events of the previous game; however, in this version of events the party is defeated by the final boss and the Kingdom of Romulea falls into darkness. Seeking to reverse the nation's fortunes, a magican named Siena searches for the Royal Library and discovers the protagonist from Dungeon Travelers 2, Fried Einhard. However, after being defeat Fried has lost his memories attacking primarily on instinct and based on his lingering attachment to his previous allies. The website showed the character designs for Siena and Fried, as well as those of Fried's returning allies — Souffle, Yuni, Yae, Alisia, Conette, and Fiora — in their new darker forms.
Dungeon Travelers 2-2 is being developed for PlayStation Vita. The game is planned for release in Japan on April 20, 2017, with no announcement yet regarding a potential localisation.
