This week, an announcement was made that Borealys Games' indie action RPG Mages of Mystralia will be coming to the PlayStation 4, alongside the previously-announced PC version. The game expands on the age-old concept of video game magic by putting players in charge of learning and creating their own magic spells rather than automatically learning a spell when leveling up. Players will take on the role of young magic-user Zia, who goes on a quest to learn the illegal art of arcane knowledge. By combining magic runes, unique spells are created, with millions of potential effects to solve environmental puzzles and engage in combat.
A webcomic as well as an announcement trailer were released along with the official announcement. A fully playable area of the game will be available for those attending the PlayStation Experience on December 3 and 4 in Anaheim. The game will release in spring of 2017.
