Nights of Azure 2 begins with the knight Alushe being killed by a demon and being brought back to life as a half-demon. Camilla Arukado is one of the game's Lilys, a AI-controlled partner that assists the player during combat, and also the woman responsible for Alushe's resurrection. Arukado is a doctor interested in demon physiology though her reasons for saving Alushe are unclear. In battle, Arukado uses firearms. There are two different modes to her weapon depending upon what kind of barrel is equipped: spread shots hit a wider target but precision shots cause much higher damage.
New Servans were also shown off. Servans are fiends that can be rescued and convinced to help join the player in battle, though unlike Lilys there can be more than one active at a time. Nero is a cat Servan that has close ties to Alushe. Shalf is a wolf Servan, one imbued with quick reflexes and a lightning hue. Outside of combat his lightning abilities will also have puzzle-solving properties. Another Servan revealed was the firebird Eli, who also has the ability to transform into a sword.
Japan will be receiving Nights of Azure 2 on December 22, 2016, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. A western release is due at some unspecified point in the future.
