The Battle Demo Version 2.0 of Valkyria: Azure Revolution is now available in Japan and publisher Sega has revealed various new details about the game along with it. In addition to the new details and associated screenshots, the company also put out a new video showing an early story scene, inviting viewers to try and guess to voice actors. It should be noted that the scene in question has been cut from the game itself and has reduced image quality from the current product.
The game has a headquarters that players will return to between missions. Here players can select missions, and organise their four-member party. The demo includes three missions, which players can repeat as they wish: "Base Assault Mission on the Imperial Road" (playable at TGS 2016), the "Grohtsen Recapture Strategy", and the "Defeat the Valkyria Mission".
The headquarters also features Basil's Magic Factory. Here players can customise and manufacture weapons. Characters can be enhanced by equipping Ragnite collected during missions, which gives access to new Magic Arts. The Ragnite weapons that the party members are equipped with can also be enhanced using using a skill tree that can offer bonuses such as attribute increases, and more slots to equip Ragnite into.
Valkyria: Azure Revolution is a reboot of Sega's Valkyria Chronicles series and is being developed by Media.Vision. The game is set to be released in Japan on January 19, 2017, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
