The 3D first-person dungeon crawler Legend of Grimrock was released earlier this year, but it has just received a major new update. The game's developer, Almost Human, has just formally released the Legend of Grimrock Dungeon Editor. The editor has just finished its public beta, and is now available as a free update for everyone who owns the game. People who purchased the game from Steam can get the update through that service, while those who bought the game via GoG or directly from Almost Human can download the patch by clicking on this link.
The Dungeon Editor is an advanced toolset that will help modders create complex dungeons using almost all of the assets from the main game. It will let them adjust dungeon layouts, create new items and monsters, build complex traps, and even modify monster graphics. It will even feature integrated Steam Workshop support to make it easier to publish new dungeons and mods. Many of these features are highlighted in the trailer seen below.
To help promote the release of the Dungeon Editor, Almost Human is holding a sale for Legend of Grimrock. Their own site will be selling the game for half price, so people will be able to purchase it for only $7.49.
