Square Enix released The Last Remnant for the Xbox 360 on November 20, 2008, with versions of the game for the PC and PlayStation 3 announced but not given a release date. Those awaiting the PC version of the game are in luck, as Square Enix just announced that it has scheduled the PC version of The Last Remnant for release in Spring 2009.
The Last Remnant's name is drawn from mysterious ancient artifacts in the game called Remnants. The game's story takes place in a unique world and follows a boy named Rush who pursues his sister Irina's kidnappers. Rush and Irina are children of two scientists researching the Remnants. As Rush seeks to rescue his sister, the rest of the world is thrown into confusion as those who yearn for the power of the Remnants conflict with each other. An enigmatic man named the Conquerer also appears, whom Rush is somehow connnected to.
Square Enix divulged that the PC version of The Last Remnant will contain features not found in the Xbox 360 version of the game, but has not elaborated on what those might be. There have been no new announcements concerning the PlayStation 3 version of The Last Remnant just yet.
