Marvelous Interactive's Valhalla Knights series is coming to the Nintendo Wii. The new title, Valhalla Knights:Eldar Saga, will be the first game in the series to be released on a system other than the PSP. The original Valhalla Knights was released on April 17, 2007, and the sequel, Valhalla Knights 2, was released on October 1, 2008.
Valhalla Knights:Eldar Saga will be similar to the previous two games. The game will still feature real-time combat and will allow two-player cooperative play through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The quest system is also retained and will include at least 60 quests.
The game tells the story of a world in which a war is fought against magic, thought to be long dead but recently revived. The player will be able to choose from two chapters to begin with. One of the two chapters will force the player to play as a male hero, but upon reaching the other chapter the player will be able to customize their gender and race, with four races available. Players will also be able to customize their character's weapon (which will alter their appearance), hair color and style, and statistics such as strength and intelligence.
Valhalla Knights:Eldar Saga will feature music by Motoi Sakuraba, known for his composition work on various Tales games, the Star Ocean series, the Golden Sun series, and more. The game is estimated to be around 70% completed and is currently set for a 2009 release date in Japan. No information about a North American release has been revealed yet.
