Square Enix recently announced a new action RPG for the Wii and Nintendo DS called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. Players can play simultaneously on their DS and Wii using Square Enix's own Pollux Engine. Along with this, the game will feature online play like previous games in the Crystal Chronicles franchise and some form of Wi-Fi functionality.
Not much is known about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, least of which is if it will be released in North America. The game's story centers on Charlotta and a mysterious crystal, and in terms of gameplay players will have the use of either the stylus (for the DS) or the Wiimote (for the Wii). Gamers can also transfer Mii characters made on the Wii version to the DS version to be used in play. Echoes of Time is expected in Japan on January 29, 2009.
