When Square Enix announced Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana, it demonstrated the game's status as a priority title by revealing it as a key element of the World of Mana revival project as well as by assigning it a high profile development team. The only lingering question left regarding the action RPG in development for the Nintendo DS was whether or not the game would make the trek across the Pacific Ocean.
While Square Enix has yet to make any formal announcements about the game's possible future in the west, it has taken one recent action which lends credence to the idea that Children of Mana will receive a North American localization. Earlier this month, the company registered a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Children of Mana." The registration does not guarantee a domestic release, but it does add to the likelihood of such an outcome.
Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana will be released in Japan this coming winter. RPGamer will continue to provide news on this heavily anticipated title as it becomes available.
