Fresh on the heels of the release of Atelier Marie & Elie, Gust Interactive is already working on the next update to the series, which has been revealed as an upgraded version of the PlayStation 2 offering Atelier Lillie. The new version, with a "Plus" judiciously thrown into the title for good measure, promises bigger and better things. The most prominent of these improvements is a new fighting mode allowing players to go head-to-head, both online and off, to see who is the better alchemist. The online mode requires the PS2 modem, while offline battles employ memory cards to get the job done.
Gust is currently planning an April 2002 Japanese release for Atelier Lillie Plus, less than a year after the original title was released. The game will sell for 4800 yen, which translates roughly to $37.00 US. The chances of North American release, as with most titles in this series, are minimal.
