Grandia Xtreme, the third title in the series, now has a firm release date in Japan. Enix has announced they will release the title, which they are currently developing for the PlayStation2, on January 31st, 2002. The game, which follows the story of a young bounty hunter named Evan, will be released alongside the PlayStation2 port of Grandia II (originally a Dreamcast title) on the very same day.
There has been no announcement of a North American release of Grandia Xtreme at this point, although it seems highly unlikely that a localization will not eventually occur. For now, there is some consolation: Grandia II for the PlayStation2 will be released stateside by Ubisoft almost two months ahead of the projected Japanese date for the game, hitting stores on December 4th, 2001.
