Sony has released further details on Tsugunai, one of three RPGs they will release for the Playstation 2 in the near future. In the game, the player is a dispossessed soul that can only regain its body by inhabiting the bodies of troubled people to aid them in solving their problems. The game will feature over 30 of these scenarios, and with the variety this entails, Sony has included a narration system to help the player keep track of everything. How this works exactly is unclear, but upon loading a game, the player will be reminded of what point the game is currently at.
The game is played from the perspective of each individual character, and the battle system uses a combination of magic and summon beasts to attack monsters. There is even a feature which reduces damage received when a button is pressed during the attack. Linking all this together are gems which are the key to abilities used in battle.
Tsugunai's system has been deemed "Possess And Act", which sums things up pretty accurately. The game is scheduled for release on February 22nd, 2001 in Japan, for a suggested price of 5800 yen. There is currently no North American release scheduled.
