XSEED Games revealed that it will be releasing the PC version of Nihon Falcom's The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel on August 2, 2017. The game will be available through Steam, GOG.com, and The Humble Store for $39.99/€39.99/£29.99. A 10% discount will be available for its first week on sale.
Originally released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Trails of Cold Steel is set a couple of years after the events of Trails in the Sky. It takes place in a different nation in that world, however, and does not require players to have played previous entries to follow the story, though there are direct ties between the games. The PC version of Trails of Cold Steel will include over 5,000 newly-voiced lines of previously silent dialogue. Its direct sequel, Trails of Cold Steel II, is also set for release on PC at a later date.
In other Trails of Cold Steel news, Nihon Falcom released a new batch of images for the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III, which is set two years after the events of Trails of Cold Steel II. Like the previous batch, these images show some of the former members of Class VII who will be returning in the third game. Trails of Cold Steel III is planned for release in Japan for PlayStation 4 on September 28, 2017, with no news to report on a western release.
