Versus Evil has announced that it will be cancelling the PlayStation Vita version of Stoic's tactical RPG The Banner Saga. The decision came after two years of troubled production involving multiple development studios including Stoic, Versus Evil, Sony, and Code Mystics. The versions of the game that eventually became playable on the Vita hit mutliple snags, namely inability to test the game before having it up and running on the console itself. The full statement from Versus Evil can be read here.
The Banner Saga originally released for the PC, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux in 2014, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions releasing in 2016. A sequel, The Banner Saga 2, was released on those platforms later in 2016. A third game in the series, The Banner Saga 3, was successfully Kickstarted earlier in 2017 with planned releases on PC and Mac.
