Publisher Kasedo Games and developer Puumba's rhythm game and RPG mash-up, The Metronomicon, now has a release date. The game will be released for PC and Mac through Steam for $19.99/£14.99/€19.99, with those who pre-order receiving a 20% discount. For a limited time, those who pre-order will also receive a digital artbook and the thirteen-track original score as a bonus. A Deluxe Edition bundle is also available to pre-order, which adds in the full fifty-track soundtrack, for an extra saving to the soundtrack's regular $7.99/£5.99/€7.99 add-on price.
The Metronomicon's story mode puts players in control of a party of eight new masters for the "rhythmic combat arts". Four members are in combat at any one time, with players freely switching between the characters' various rhythm tracks to activate various abilities and spells. The effectiveness of these attacks is based on the player's performance at following the tracks. As mentioned above, the game's soundtrack features fifty tracks from an assortment of electronic, synthwave, and chiptune artists.
