After spending several months in Early Access, publisher HeroCraft and developer Lion's Shade's open-world pirate RPG Tempest is nearing its full release on Steam. Its full version, for PC and Mac, will be available on August 22, 2016, with the game to be priced at $14.99/£10.99/€14.99. At the time of writing, those interested can still preorder through the Early Access version for the cheaper price of $11.99/£8.99/€11.99.
Tempest casts players as captain of their own ship in an original world reminiscent of the 16th/17th century. Players are able to customise their ship in a variety of ways as well as hiring and levelling up their own crew members. Combat is against both sea-faring opponents and on-land fortresses, with the merchants and pirates joined by mythical beasts such as the Kraken and Leviathan. The game will include multiplayer, both co-op and PvP, for up to three players.
