Pokémon Sun / Moon

The Pokémon Company revealed nine new Pokémon that will appear in Pokémon Sun and Moon, the latest pair of titles in the series. It also revealed new forms for the legendary Zygarde that will be available for players, with a trailer viewable below showing the Pokémon in action.

Tapu Koko is an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon and the guardian deity of Melemele Island in the Alola region. Its Electric Surge ability raises the power of Electric-type moves and prevents any Pokémon from falling asleep. Charjabug is a Bug/Electric-type Pokémon and is the first evolution of Grubbin. It's Battery ability raises the power of allies' special moves. Charjabug evolves into another Bug/Electric-type Pokémon in the form of Vikavolt.

Normal/Dragon-type Drampa live alone in the mountains, ten thousand feet above sea level. Drampa's Berserk ability raises its Special Attack stat when its HP drops below half. Bruxish is a Water/Psychic-type Pokémon, with some members of its species having the new Dazzling ability that stops opponents from using moves that normally let them strike first in a turn. Cutiefly is a Bug/Fairy-type Pokémon that is said to detect the auras of all living things and uses this to seek out nectar.

Togedemaru is an Electric/Steel-type known as the Roly-Poly Pokémon. The long needle on its head is used to attract electricity as a lightning rod. Rockruff is a Rock-type Pokémon with an excellent sense of smell. There are tales of them being separated form their trainers but managing to reunite with them after days of following their faint scent. Finally, there is the Normal-type Pokémon Komala. It spends almost all of its time asleep, but can eat, travel, and even battle while in that state. Its Comatose ability ensures it stays asleep, preventing it from receiving any other status effects.

Zygarde is a special Pokémon made up of combinations of cells. Starting with Cell and Core forms, these can come together to form Zygarde 50% Forme, with contains half of Zygarde's total cells. All of the forms have the Dragon and Ground types. In an emergency Zygarde 10% Forme can take actions independently of Zygarde 50% Forme, though the 50% Forme counts as its main body. A Zygarde in 10% Forme or 50% Forme that has the Power Construct ability can change into Zygarde Complete Forme. Zygarde also has a number of unique moves. Thousand Arrows is a Ground-type move that can hit Flying-type Pokémon as well as those with the Levitate ability and causes them to get hit with subsequent Ground-type attacks. Meanwhile, Thousand Waves prevents a Pokémon from fleeing or being swapped out, and Core Enforcer can erase the ability of any Pokémon that have gone before it that turn.

Pokémon Sun and Moon move the series to the new region of Alola, which is based on Hawaii and made up of four natural islands and one artifical island. The game will be released exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America on November 18, 2016, and in Europe on November 23, 2016.
