Action RPG spin-off Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below's western release will come with Japanese DLC included in the base game, Square Enix has announced. The DLC comes as a series of optional episodes featuring battles and challenges. The episodes will be available to players once the conditions for unlocking them are met and offer extra stories and battles for Alena and Kiryl, Maya, Terry, Bianca and Nera, Terry, and Yangus and Jessica. Square Enix has released some screenshots from the DLC episodes, which include appearances from classic Dragon Quest bosses such as The Great Demon Lord Zoma, Psaro the Manslayer, and Bjørn the Behemoose.
Dragon Quest Heroes is developed by Dynasty Warriors creator Omega Force and features heroes from multiple Dragon Quest games coming together similarly to Hyrule Warriors. The game is due to be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 in North America on October 13, 2015 and in Europe on October 16, 2015. A sequel has been announced, which is due to be released in Japan in 2016.
