The Sacred franchise has a new owner in Deep Silver, which has announced that it will be publishing Sacred 3 in a console-friendly reboot of the series. Although it will be available for PC as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game will shed its PC roots in favour of Dark Alliance-style action RPG gameplay and a smaller, more tightly-focused world.
The game will still be set in the Sacred universe, with the theme of stopping a leader who has made a pact with demons. So far, Deep Silver has shown off a barbarian class called the Safiri and a lancer class called the Ancarian. There will be more classes announced later, and the game will be focusing on co-op gameplay that includes cross-class synergy. Sacred 3 is due to be released in 2013.
