Final Fantasy XIV has suffered through a catastrophic launch, but the much-anticipated version 2.0 update that is intended to completely rebuild the game for the better is coming closer. While Square Enix hasn't given a specific release date for this version, the company has announced that it is "coming very soon," and has even given it a new name: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. A new official website has been launched along with the name change, which will provide information on the upcoming version and the world of Eorzea.
Featured prominently on the new official website is a CGI trailer that shows off the story of what is happening to Eorzea. It doesn't show any gameplay, but it gives a taste of how dramatically the tone of the game has changed from the previous version.
