In an interview with Joystiq, Torchlight developer, Runic Games, stated that there are plans to put its hit RPG on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. There is no definite release date as of yet, however Runic Games CEO Max Schaefer is quoted saying that he is "talking with Microsoft and Sony" and that he "hopes to get it done as quickly as possible." The interview suggested a possible release date around the holidays assuming all the talks go well.
According to the interview, Runic Games had desired to put Torchlight on Xbox live Arcade after its initial release and put, according to Schaefer, "serious effort into a console version." When asked about a potential release of Torchlight 2 on consoles, Schaefer commented that Runic will "try to get the multiplayer sequel to consoles sometime after the PC and Mac release."
