At a press event last night, NIS America announced four new titles that will be arriving on our shores in the near future. The company has stated that it will be releasing fewer games in the coming year than it has previously, but will be focusing on the quality of the games it releases. Here's what's coming down the pipeline:
Ar Tonelico Qoga ~Knell of Ar Ciel~ is the final entry in the Ar Tonelico series. The game features the lovable Reyvateils as usual, along with the feature to delve into their subconscious minds in order to get to know them better and improve their effectiveness in battle. However, it has switched to an action-based combat system. The game also features a mini rhythm game as part of the magic system and alternative endings depending on the choices the player makes throughout the story. Ar Tonelico Qoga will be released for the PS3 in spring 2011.
Z.H.P.:Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman is a superhero-themed action RPG featuring the ability to completely customize the main character, down to the ability to add drills for hands or wheels instead of feet. It also features a customizable secret base, from which the character will venture out onto randomized maps in order to defeat the forces of evil. Z.H.P. will be released for the PSP in winter 2010.
Cladun: This is an RPG is a retro dungeon-crawling title featuring the ability to create custom sprites. It will be available for the PSP exclusively via the PlayStation Network on September 9.
Finally, there will be a new Disgaea title for the PS3, which will release in Japan this year. There will be more information about this game at the Tokyo Game Show, but NISA promises that the title is evolving into something surprising.
