In Atlus's continuous effort to announce a new game every week, this week's quota was met by the announcement of Luminous Arc 2. This Nintendo DS title continues the series that began last year and attempts to improve on it in many ways. The user interface, a major complaint about the first game, has been completely overhauled. Yasunori Mitsuda will be lending his talents to the game's soundtrack not as a composer, but as a producer with Akari Kaida, Shunsuke Nakamura, Yoko Shimomura, and Yoshino Aoki taking the composition reigns.
Luminous Arc 2 features a brand new cast of characters. In this adventure the Shadow Frost Witch has broken the truce between the Witches of the Rev Magic Association and the kingdom of Carnava causing all out war. This time around Roland, a knight in training, is the one who must answer the call and save the world.
This holiday season will now be brighter thanks to Luminous Arc 2 releasing in North America then, though no specific date has been set. Along with the improvements to the interface, the game will feature multiple endings along with local and Wi-Fi multiplayer. Each copy will come with a CD soundtrack of selected tracks from the game and will retail for $39.99.
