Atlus USA has announced an official release date for its upcoming Playstation 2 RPG, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2, and it's slightly sooner than expected. The game will ship to stores on Tuesday, October 4th.

The game is a direct sequel to Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, which told the story of a tribe of warriors battling for supremacy of a world known as the Junkyard. When a mysterious light unlocked the demonic powers within them, they set off on a quest to discover the deeper meaning behind the Junkyard's conflict.

Digital Devil Saga 2 will ship with a suggested retail price of $49.99.
