NIS America has announced that they will be localizing Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana 2~ for release in North America in spring 2006. The sequel to what was actually the sixth game in the Atelier Iris series, Eternal Mana 2 follows the story of Felt and Viese as they try to keep Eden, a land of Mana and alchemists, from crumbling.
Eden and Belkhyde used to be united in harmony until one fateful day, when the great catastrophe took place. Eden distanced itself from Belkhyde, in fear that the monsters and humans there would destroy their land. This seemed to work well until Chaos resorted to the ancient power of alchemy to save his sister. Felt goes to Belkhyde, thanks to the power of his azoth, to try and stop Chaos' mad ambitions that could mark the world's destruction. It is up to Viese to protect Eden from further destruction.
The new partner change system allows players to switch between main party members to continue their journey. As with the original title, items and weapons are once again customizeable, but to a greater extent. A new chain attack and attack break system was created for this game, though details on exactly what this entails have yet to be unveiled.
