Square Enix has announced that those who attend the Venice International Film Festival will have the opportunity to watch a special preview edition of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The preview will be shown as part of "Venezia Digitale", the new digital image category of the Venice International Film Festival, which was created to display the new expressive possibilities granted by the advancement of digital technology.
"We are honored to be a part of Venezia Digitale, this exciting new category that highlights the values of innovation and artistry of digital imagery," said Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Advent Children. "As we continually strive to create digital entertainment that pushes the boundaries of technology and art, we welcome the opportunity to become a part of the world cinema community through the Venice International Film Festival."
The Venice International Film Festival will start on the 1st of September and conclude on the 11th. The release of the finished version of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will follow in Japan on DVD and Sony's PSP this fall. A North American release has not been announced.
