In a press release today, Ubi Soft announced its plans to release the next installment in the Evolution RPG series. Dubbed Evolution Worlds, the game, which is set to appear on the GameCube, will once again be developed by Sting. Ubi Soft purchased the publishing rights for the series from ESP, although the former publisher will remain involved in the project during the planning stages.
"Ubi Soft is committed to bringing quality games to every next generation console system," said Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubi Soft Entertainment. "This deal with ESP gives us the ability to satisfy the demanding appetites of the huge RPG fan community who is looking for more bang for their buck on a high-end system."
Evolution Worlds is currently slated for a North American release in the first half of 2002. Check back shortly as further details are announced.
