With Saiyuki: Journey West, Final Fantasy Tactics (re-release) and Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth due out in the very near future, the PlayStation is ignoring the rumors of its imminent demise and proving to be the console of choice for tactical RPGs. Of these, Saiyuki: Journey West is probably the game that is least known by the general gaming populace, which is never a good environment in which to release a game.
Apparently Koei agrees with this sentiment, as the publisher informed RPGamer today that the game is being held back for two weeks in order for the company to prepare the market for it. The game was originally slated for release on July 31st, but will now be delayed until the 14th of August. Koei plans to utilize this time to increase the marketing campaign for the game and to expand initial vendor orders. Expect a full review of the game shortly before the game hits shelves across North America, and check out the Saiyuki: Journey West page for previously released details of the game.
