Originally proposed for a worldwide release within the year 2000, Sonic Team's Phantasy Star Online has faced several rumors of being pushed back into 2001. Today, however, Sega dispelled these rumors of delay -- if only for Japan. Sega has officially announced December 21, 2000, as Phantasy Star Online's Japanese release date.
To the dismay of many, Sega has made no official announcements regarding the North American or European release dates of Phantasy Star Online. The title could ship simultaneously worldwide this December as originally planned, but the strong possibility of a delay in North America and Europe should not be overlooked. Stay tuned to RPGamer for more information as it breaks.
