Funcom has a released a new video that goes into greater detail about Secret World Legends' revamped combat system. The trailer gives an overview on the surface level elements of the combat differ from the original game and some of the weapon classes more specific functions.
For starters, combat will offer a reticule mode, which will allow for an over-the-shoulder camera that will make the game feel like more of a action RPG or first person shooter. Each weapon class will also be given a slightly different playstyle. For example, elemental magic users will have to control their temperature by using a combination of fire and ice spells or risk overheating. Shotgun abilities will be tied to ammunition that, when emptied, will activate a different reload ability.
Secret World Legends is a rebuild of the 2012 MMORPG The Secret World that attempts to scale back its MMO aspects. The game will be available as a free-to-play title on June 26, 2017.
