Bandai Namco today unveiled the first official trailer for Code Vein, the recently announced action RPG being developed by the team behind the God Eater series. The video, viewable below, gives a further introduction to the game's premise, in which a phenomenon called the Thorns of Judgment has laid waste to human civilisation.
Those humans who survive are known as Revenants and have special powers known as Gifts, but these come at the cost of an intense bloodlust. Revenants who succumb to the bloodlust become part the mindless cannibalistic force wandering the world known as the Lost. The video shows some of these Lost enemies that players will have to defeat in the game alongside their chosen AI partner.
Code Vein is planned for a worldwide release sometime in 2018. Exact platform details were not given, but Bandai Namco stated the game will be released on major home consoles.
