Spike Chunsoft announced that it is releasing Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics to North America for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita sometime in the summer of 2016. The game is both a spin-off of the Mystery Dungeon series and a reiminaging of indie studio Smoking WOLF's PC title, One Way Heroics.
Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics is a forced-scrolling roguelike. Though it has a large map, one side of the map features an ever-expanding wall of light that is steadily consuming the kingdom. Every action sees the wall advancing one step closer to the player, who will die on contact with it. Individual game progress is lost upon death, but players can carry over equipment between sessions as well as points that can be spent unlocking perks, NPCs, and classes, with over twenty classes available in total. The game also features bonus characters from other Spike Chunsoft series Danganronpa and Mystery Dungeon/Shiren the Wanderer.
