Koei Tecmo recently released new media and information for its upcoming release of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, the latest in Gust's long-running series. Two new trailers, the first giving an overall introduction while the second shows various bits of combat footage, are accompanied by details about time and weather systems plus a new batch of screenshots.
Time of day and weather conditions will need to be considered by players going out on missions and looking to harvest resources as some monsters and materials will only appear in certain conditions. The game also introduces a Life Point system that simulates fatigue. If players spend too long out and about without resting then they will find their party's attacks weakened.
Atelier Sophie takes place in a different setting from previous Atelier titles with protagonist Sophie Neuenmuller come across Plachta, a mysterious book who transforms into a girl and becomes Sophie's alchemy teacher. Atelier Sophie is due to be released in North America on June 7, 2016, and in Europe on June 10, 2016. The game will be available physically and digitally on PlayStation 4 as well as digitally on PlayStation Vita.
