Action RPG Sword Art Online: Lost Song is heading to Europe this fall on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, Bandai Namco has announced. Also announced for the region is a PlayStation 4 version of the game's predecessor, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, which is titled Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment and set for release in summer 2015. Sword Art Online: Lost Song will be available digitally and physically, while Re: Hollow Fragment will be digital-only.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment features an original story, with players taking control of protagonist Kazuto Kirigaya, aka Kirito, who is trapped in the titular Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (VRMMORPG). Those who already own the Vita version of the game will be able to transfer certain items to the PS4 release, with the PS4 release also unlocking certain pieces of DLC in the Vita game. The game's sequel, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, also features an original story taking place in the alternative VRMMORPG, ALfheim Online, as well as allowing players to take control of other characters in the series and introducing aerial combat.
Update - Bandai Namco's US division has confirmed that all the details above apply for North America as well.
