The last chapter in the Final Fantasy XI storyline, Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, begins this month and to celebrate Square Enix has unveiled some digital PC discounts active throughout May. Firstly, the Seekers of Adoulin expansion is available for $4.99, down from its original price of $29.99. Secondly, the Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition, which contains all of the game's expansions, is now available for $9.99 (previously $39.99). Finally, the World Transfer Service is now half-price at $9.00. All of these discounts end on June 1, 2015.
Square Enix is also offering returning players with ten free login days from May 15, 2015 to May 25, 2015. There are a number of requirements for the free login period, however. Players must first have migrated their PlayOnline IDs to a Square Enix account, and the account must be inactive (not cancelled) as of May 12, 2015. Those interested can read more details, and download the Windows Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition client files for free, at the Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign page.
Rhapsodies of Vana'diel is the final expansion for Final Fantasy XI, although unlike previous ones it is being provided free of charge and is being brought out in three parts, with the final part set for November 2015. Support for Final Fantasy XI will continue indefinitely for PC users, but will end in March 2016 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.
