Atlus USA has announced that Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl will be releasing for the Nintendo 3DS in North America in Fall 2013. This game has two stories to follow. One is an updated version of the original Etrian Odyssey, while the second will give players a look into the origin of the Yggdrasil tree.
The game will have a story mode, completely new to the series, that gives players 5 pre-made characters, who each have their own dialogue and personality. The story of the Yggdrasil tree will take players through new dungeons and layouts, will pit them against new enemies, and will open up new mysteries in the world of Etria.
Also new to the series will be the Grimoire Stone system, which allows characters to equip special stones that give them access to new skills. Other additions to this game include 3D gameplay, animated scenes from Madhouse Inc., character voiceovers for story and battle scenes, as well as the option for orchestrated background music.
This title also includes a Classic mode, which allows players to to see the entirety of the story for the original game in the series with many updates. This mode will also feature new difficulty levels, Picnic and Standard for players new to the series or just looking for story, and Expert for players looking for new challenges.
Atlus has also opened the game's official site, which will contain more information as the game moves closer to release. For a short look at the game, see its Japanese trailer below.
