Infinite Undiscovery

The first in a completely new lineup of Square Enix titles for Xbox 360, Infinite Undiscovery ships in a simultaneous release on September 2, 2008. President and chief executive officer of Square Enix states, "With the simultaneous release of Infinite Undiscovery, Square Enix is entering an exciting new period of delivering great gaming experiences to our fans all around the world at the same time, creating new global communities. This is something that we have aimed to do for a long time and we look to continue to deliver worldwide gaming experiences across all platforms well into the future." This is a collaborative project between Square Enix and Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile developer tri-Ace Inc.

Infinite Undiscovery will feature situational battles in which players will be faced with a variety of decisions to make. Each choice will lead to new discoveries that can ultimately affect the game world. Battles are seamlessly interwoven within the explorable world and will have players employing various methods to defeat enemies. A total of 18 characters will be available, each having different abilities that might be needed to complete a task. Players will also need to rely not only on sight and sound, but also scent; how this will be implemented is yet to be known.

With the world's lands transforming into wastelands, the inhabitants of the Infinite Undiscovery world now live in fear as a sinister force has chained the moon to the world's surface. No longer can mankind harness the power of the moon for their own prosperity; the wicked Dreadknight and the Order of Chains is bleeding the life from the planet. A captive of the Order, a young boy named Capell, is rescued by a lively young woman named Aya. Capell, mysteriously called the "Liberator" by his captors, is hurried away to meet Sigmund the Liberator, leader of a small band fighting against the Order. Both Sigmund and Capell are shocked to find that they both have the exact same appearance.

Infinite Undiscovery is not yet rated by the ESRB, but will be available at North American retailers for the suggested retail price of $59.99(USD). The game's website can be found here and a new trailer can be viewed exclusively at Gametrailers.
