Today via Famitsu, Compile Hearts announced the development of the PS3 turn-based RPG X Edge. The title is a collaborative effort between Idea Factory, Gust, Capcom, and Nippon Ichi. Though the main protagonists are completely original, there will be featured characters from notable series such as Darkstalkers, Ar Tonelico, Disgaea, Spectral Souls, and Mana Khemia.

Compile Hearts is a Japanese publisher who is also releasing Record of Agarest War for the PS3. They formed with the remnants of Compile after they filed for bankruptcy in 2002. X Edge is set for release in Japan in September of this year.
