The third and final installment in Namco Bandai's .hack G.U. series has been announced. The trilogy comes to a close with .hack //G.U. Vol 3: Redemption, which is scheduled for release this fall 2007 on the PlayStation 2. Redemption takes place once again in "The World", an MMO setting where characters face very real dangers in a blurred reality.
In this third installment, players will be able to use an enhanced battle system and more powerful attacks. A new Awakening mode will also be available to deliver extreme damage to enemies. Players also have a choice of 22 unique characters available to join the party, along with new enemies, dungeons, missions, and Crimson VS cards.
"The first two installments of the .hack//G.U. trilogy have drawn players into 'The World' with compelling characters, addictive gameplay, and a riveting storyline," said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO, Namco Bandai Games America Inc. "Delivering a captivating conclusion, .hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption will have fans on the edge of their seat from start to finish."
Redemption takes place just after the second installment left off. With old enemies returning, and friends turning their backs to him, Haseo must find a way to stop the force of evil that is leaking from the security of the online game into their very real offline lives before it is too late.
