Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has announced that the upcoming Zelda game for Nintendo's dual screen handheld will predominantly utilize the system's touch screen feature and stylus. Aonuma did not further detail how the touch screen will be used, or how the game will differ from previous Zelda games. The game was originally speculated to be similar to The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, a previous GameCube Zelda that emphasized multiplayer gameplay.
The development progress for the Zelda DS game is unknown at this time. The Japanese and U.S. release dates have not yet been confirmed, but The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is expected to be released for GameCube this Fall. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap was released for the Game Boy Advance handheld system last January in the United States and last November in Japan.
