Although the newest of Game Arts' Grandia titles has shown up in the databases of North American online retailers for over a month, Enix finally sealed the deal with an official press release. Grandia Xtreme, released in Japan early this year, will be published in North America this fall by none other than Enix, the company behind games such as Valkyrie Profile and the Dragon Warrior series.
Not counting the recent ports of Grandia II, Grandia Xtreme is the first new Grandia title since the original Dreamcast version of Grandia II was released in late 2000. Grandia Xtreme is a PlayStation 2 game that features an engaging skill development system, sophisticated AI, and a refined battle system that blends elements of both turn-based and real-time combat. The North American version of the game will be publicly unveiled next month at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. New details and a concrete release date will likely be announced at this time.
