As Final Fantasy XI nears its May 16 Japanese release, Square has revealed its plans for
the game's original soundtrack. Unlike the gargantuan four-disc releases of
post-Final Fantasy VI soundtracks, the OST features 51 tracks spread over two CDs.
All songs on the compilation are composed by veteran Square maestro Nobuo Uematsu.
Final Fantasy XI's original soundtrack is tentatively scheduled for a June 5 release
in Japan. A limited edition that includes a bonus DVD of FF XI movies will retail for
3500 yen (approximately $26.57 US). The normal edition will retail for 2854 yen (approximately $21.66 US).
