Square Enix has released a new video detailing the content included in its next set of major patches for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. These three patches form the Before the Fall 2.5 update, with the first patch set to be released on January 20, 2015.
Included in the first patch is the first set of new main scenario quests, which are planned to bring the game's story to a conclusion ahead of the release of the Heavensward expansion in Spring 2015. These quests are joined by a new dungeon named The Keeper of the Lake, plus hard mode dungeons for The Wanderer's Palace and Amdapor Keep. This first patch will also include the finale to the Crystal Tower and the World of Darkness storyline, a new part of the Manderville storyline, and the Urth's Fount trial that pits players against Odin.
The second, 2.51 patch is currently due in late February and will focus on the Manderville Gold Saucer content. The Gold Saucer will add chocobo racing and the Triple Triad card game, plus some other mini-games.
The third and final patch will be primarily story focused, and is set to release in late March. It will feature the conclusion to the new storyline quests introduced in the first patch.
