The game will launch in Japan on June 27 for the PlayStation 3, and will cost 7140 yen. There will also be a limited edition version available for 10,290 yen, but no other details were provided.
The female protagonist is named Escha Malier, and she is a mostly self-taught 15 year old alchemist. She learned basics from her mother, but having taught herself, she is not very experienced. She is pure-hearted, and has a tail.
The male protagonist is named Logix Ficsario, and he isn't very well versed in the alchemy that Escha practices. He wields an alchemical sword, though, which is a product of alchemy and fencing. He is 18 years old, and is described as the game's dreamiest character.
There will be further characters, but they have not been revealed yet, and it is possible that characters from Atelier Ayesha will appear, though aged. Battles will allow for six battle members, with three on a front row and three on a back row.
Players will be able to choose between the two protagonists to utilize as a main character, and while the main story will remain the same, scenes might be seen from different points of view, scenes might be slightly different, and there will be exclusive events for each. The themes of the game will be friendship and trust, and the "sky" in the title will also play a large part in the thematic.
The alchemy in Escha & Logy will be based on Atelier Ayesha, and will include some graphical enhancements, such as lip syncing and eye movements. As a bonus, all first-run copies of the game will also include a download for the PS2 classic Mana Khemia 2.
