CD Projekt RED's debut trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 gives a brief CG slow motion look at Night City and the elite Psycho Squad. The members of this highly specialized Night City Police unit have been called in to handle an augmented woman who has gone "Psycho."
This is how Adam Badowski, the head of CD Projekt RED studio, described Psychos in Cyberpunk 2077: "The Psycho Squad specializes in combating 'psychos' – individuals who overuse implants and substances that boost or otherwise alter the human body. There comes a point when they overdose on these innovations, and their bodies start to rebel against their biological body parts as well as against all things organic around them. Simply put, they start killing people, who they now derisively call 'meatbags.'"
The game is said to feature "A multi-thread, nonlinear story designed for mature players" and will take place in Night City, an open-world metropolis that players will be free to explore. According to CD Projekt RED, the game will be released "when it's ready." But given that this game is a next-gen title, it won't be out any time soon.
